The NCL star (round trip Seattle) does have balcony cabins that accomodate 5 with the rollaway bed (category BB) I actually priced out the May 15th date for you and the 3/4/5th passenger rates are $59 plus port and taxes so for your family of 5 you are looking at around $3670 total price (cruise port and taxes).
Suites yes (almost all cruise ships have them), but they are expensive, always more expensive than 2 regular cabins, sometimes 2 or 3 times more than the cost of both cabins combined.Instead, I'd get one regular balcony cabin and an inside cabin directly across the hall, and you'll end up saving at least 50% off the cost of an expensive large suite. You could also book 2 connecting balcony cabins for less than a suite. If you use a good travel agent, he or she can ensure that you get the accommodations you are looking for. On most ships you can get a roll-a-way bed. But that really limlts floor space in your cabin. Your steward will make it up at night then collapse it during the day.
We had one once and the matress was thin so our steward took the mattress from the pull down and put it on it. (This was on Costa and the hadicapped cabin had ONE twin bed and a pull down.
Never could figure how that was a handicapped cabin!) Also once our balcony cabin had a pull down and sleeper sofa about twin bed size. If you're traveling with kids maybe that could be shared. We JUST got off Carnival's Glory. Our stateroom is considered an inside but had a window! We were one of 4 cabins in the very front of deck 10 and it slept 5. (Our window looked right out on the small front deck.)We had two beds together that would be L shaped if separate, a double bed size pull out sofa and a pull down bunk. If you put our beds into the L shape you could get a crib or roll-a-way bed in the room also.
And it was a handicapped room so had a huge bathroom. We chose this cabin because it was the only one available the week before when we booked. The Glory is the Conquest class Carnival and all Conquest class ships have the same floor plan and should have the same cabin layouts.
